DOLMADAKIA IN SPACE
From Crete to outer space. Kalokairi Sto Noto’s first short film, on a grand production scale.
WATCH THE FILM
Kalokairi Sto Noto’s first short film, as its creators describe it, sends the crew far beyond Crete. Two villages, a dolma festival and a plan that defies gravity. Stalitsa competes with Stalida for attention, while four grandmas, a priest and a shepherd with MIT know-how launch a space mission. In 2025, the feud reaches its furthest destination; in 2026, the film wins GOLD at the Indie Awards in Best in Film / Video – Online.
OUR STORY
OF THE VIDEO.
Stalida has life, services and development. Neighbouring Stalitsa sees its world shrinking and takes pride in its annual dolma festival. When the rival village plans its own festival on the same day, the crew seeks a solution that will attract every eye.
An old olive mill becomes the starting point for a fantastical space plan. Star Wars and Darth Vader references meet village life, cooking and the grandmas in an adventure that treats the impossible as perfectly normal.
BEHIND
THE CAMERA.
The production belongs to the radio show’s 22nd season. In their SKAI interview, the creators explain that they aim to preserve the characters’ authenticity and innocence, even as they take them into modern, larger adventures.
BEYOND
THE SCREEN.
DOLMADAKIA IN SPACE received extensive press and television coverage: ANT1, SKAI, LiFO, Patris and other outlets presented the new space adventure, while its creators spoke about the authenticity of their characters. The journey continued with GOLD at the Indie Awards 2026 in Best in Film / Video – Online, as recorded in the official winners’ list. From a village seeking attention to a story recognised in creative communication, the film opens a new chapter for the project.
