STAKA ME TA AVGA brings Cretan music, relationships and contemporary pop culture together in a story where the kitchen becomes contested territory and the village café gains cinematic intensity. A special appearance by Ilias Mamalakis connects gastronomy with the most unpredictable Cretan feud.

OF THE VIDEO.
The grandmas’ success provokes a response from the grandpas. A café owner and his romantic worries lie at the heart of the story, while Cretan cuisine supplies the crew’s most recognisable weapon.
The production brings Ken and Barbie references together with Cretan musical style. Ilias Mamalakis’s appearance connects with the story’s culinary identity and the film’s title.
BEHIND
THE CAMERA.
The official video was released on 17 July 2024 for the 21st season. Giorgos Balothiaris and Gogo Verigou wrote the script, direction and lyrics. The musical reference draws on Thanasis Skordalos’s “Enas Kainourgios Anemos”. Ilias Mamalakis joins the story as the crew’s familiar ally. His presence creates another bridge between cooking, humour and the production’s characters. The grandpas’ song, movements and reactions build their response with the same determination we know from the grandmas.
BEYOND
THE SCREEN.
Athens Voice presented the production as the grandpas’ answer to the viral grandmas. The film expands the crew and continues the meeting of local culture with major contemporary references.
