Cretan CASA DE PAPEL
Kalokairi Sto Noto’s multi-award-winning video: a blockbuster discussed like no other.
WATCH THE FILM
Masks, a secret plan and an election that becomes a personal matter. A mother wants her son to become village president and organises her own “perfect adulteration”. Cretan CASA DE PAPEL brings the tension of a cinematic heist to a Cretan courtyard, with the grandmas holding the keys to the operation.
OUR STORY
OF THE VIDEO.
The famous series becomes the starting point for a story about village elections. The grand plan has local stakes: who will be elected president, and how far will a determined mother go for her son?
The grandmas turn the conspiracy into a family and community affair. The codes of the heist—masks, secrecy, organisation—gain a Cretan interpretation, with humour in the faces as much as in the plan itself.
BEHIND
THE CAMERA.
The film accompanied Kalokairi Sto Noto’s 16th season. Xperience More describes it as a Casa de Papel parody designed to travel beyond the show’s local listeners.
BEYOND
THE SCREEN.
The film gained nationwide publicity, featured in YouTube Rewind Greece 2019 and received an Ermis Awards distinction announced in 2020. The Cretan cinematic world met creative communication and industry recognition. The production’s official retrospective recorded more than 1.5 million views in less than two weeks, while television appearances and audience posts continued its journey.
