The Cretan Thriller

The story places the prime minister in a Cretan village during wedding preparations. Within the fictional plot, a third vaccine dose turns the residents into zombies and the night becomes a bizarre battle.

Thriller provides the production’s musical and cinematic starting point. Torches, dark imagery and the Cretan setting turn political and social satire into an intensely atmospheric adventure.

The creators single out The Cretan Thriller as their favourite video. The pandemic reduced the production’s scale but made room for a distinctive artistic approach: an abandoned village, midnight, demanding night shots and residents who became the story’s authentic protagonists. Darkness, stone buildings, dance and music create an atmosphere beyond parody. As the team recalls, the shoot had its own intensity: rehearsals and the search for the right image continued while the village would normally be asleep.

The 18th-season film received wide coverage on news and entertainment websites. Local community participation and the night-time production emerged as key elements of its story.
